Edward Hopper.
Visions of Reality
Inspired by the movie ‘Age of Adaline’, our story unfolds inside an intimate boutique wine shop. Like Adaline, our protagonist carries an ageless secret and keeps others at arm’s length, steering clear of deep attachments—until a chance encounter with a man prompts her to reconsider, and she ultimately chooses to embrace the possibility of love.
Adaline stands outside a window, watching the interior of the store through the glass; the shop is closed, its lights dim. Inside, a man noticing her at the pane, offers her a small sample of wine to try.
Edward Hopper is a legendary artist renowned for his masterful use of color to evoke deep feelings of solitude and quiet introspection.
Given carte blanche, we brought in additional props to style the set alongside carefully selected items from the store.
Shelf Detail
“Anni, amori, e bicchieri di vino, no che contato mai.”
Years, lovers, and glasses of wine. These are things that should never be counted.
Hooper’s characters are soulful and dreamlike, quietly conveying a deep sense of longing that gently blurs the boundary between fantasy and waking reality.
The film "Shirley: Visions of Reality" examines how Edward Hopper’s iconic paintings are transformed into vivid, cinematic scenes that bring his quiet, poignant world to life.
